Surrounded by Venetian walls, recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, it still preserves the original layout of its ancient streets and the medieval and renaissance atmosphere evoked by Piazza Vecchia and Piazza del Duomo. Other monuments of absolute importance are Palazzo della Ragione, Santa Maria Maggiore and the Colleoni Chapel, built to house the Mausoleum of the famous commander and his daughter. During the visit you can not miss a walk along the walls of the city where you meet the sixteenth-century Porta Sant'Agostino, topped by the Lion of Venice, Porta Sant'Alessandro and Porta San Giacomo.
