the dream become reality of the poet-soldier
On the shores of Lake Garda stands the victorious Italians, a complex of buildings, squares, an open-air theatre, gardens and water courses erected since 1921 by Gabriele d'Annunzio with the help of the architect Gian Carlo Maroni, in memory of the “inimitable life” of the poet-soldier and of the Italian enterprises during the First World War. The winner today is open to the public and visited every year by about 180,000 people.
